Hi, I’m Linda, the creator, and owner behind Ellems Cookies. I have been baking for over 40 years, starting as a teen learning Portuguese treats like sweet rice pudding and custard tarts eventually leading to an obsession for cookie baking. My passion for baking comes naturally and if you love old fashioned, traditional recipes then this is a place for you!
Inspired by the time-honoured recipes passed down from generations, I’ve taken my amazing mother-in-laws recipes (who could have opened her own restaurant with her incredible tasting food) and transformed it into a delightful array of cookies. I love baking cookies with whole and simple ingredients where you can taste and smell the flavours of lemon, coconut, almonds, and the fruitiness of strawberries.
Ellems Cookies is a home-based business, we are peanut free and sell scratch-made cookies. What sets us apart is our commitment to traditional home baked cookies, just cookies and nothing but cookies.

Portugese Sweet Bread
Portuguese sweet bread- Massa (Massa Sovada or Pão Doce). This light and airy sweet bread is a popular Easter and Christmas treat. It’s so good, also enjoyed throughout the year, eaten at breakfast, during meals and even served as a dessert.
Massa is traditionally served plain or with butter. My family loves to toast it or butter and brown it in a skillet, it's amazing and hard not to eat the whole loaf. It also makes the most incredible French Toast. But be careful because you won’t stop eating it!
